OPTIMISM

An optimistic person is someone who is inclined to look at things from the most hopeful or positive perspective. When you are optimistic you tend to anticipate the best possible outcome in a situation.

When we are optimistic we:

  • look towards our future with hope and anticipation.

  • we believe we can overcome challenges and are driven to do so.

  • we are motivated. We are much more likely to work towards a goal if we perceive we can reach it.

  • we don't give up. We don't get down on ourselves when faced with obstacles or failures.

  • we focus better when we do not get distracted by worry or difficulties; we can focus on solutions.

When we practice the value of optimism we actively seek the positive aspects of a situation. We are not unaware of problems or the negatives factors we just expect or believe that a happy or desirable outcome is possible.

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill
